A SUCCESSFUL FIRST YEAR FOR THE TWISTED DREAMS FILM FESTIVAL For Immediate release MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin April 12, 2016 - After months of planning the first ever Milwaukee Twisted Dreams Film Festival turned out to be a big success. Turnout was better than anticipated on Friday night with a steady stream of audience members on Saturday. There were six awards given away. A jury award and audience award each for Best Feature. Best Short Film and Best Wisconsin Short Film. The Wisconsin premiere of Dark opened the festival to a packed audience. Following that screening more seats were added to the theatre so we could accommodate the even bigger audience for the Wisconsin Twisted Short Programs. With a majority of the Wisconsin filmmakers in attendance there was a short Q&A session at the end and some great discussions about filmmaking in Milwaukee. We followed that with a memorable performance by Professor Pinkerton and Sanjula from Dead Man’s Carnival. Saturday things stayed busy for our 5 screenings with filmmaker Q&A’s after most screenings. The jury awards were announced after each film that won played. The margin of victory for the Audience awards were slim and even resulted in a tie for the Best Feature. Holy Hell was the big winner taking best Feature for the Jury Award and tied for the Audience Award with The Hike. Winners of the Awards were Jury Award presented by MKE Production Rental Best Feature - Holy Hell Best Short Film - Mr. Dentonn Best Wisconsin Short - Hi, Neighbor Audience Award presented by Milwaukee Movie Talk Best Feature - (tie) Holy Hell and The Hike Best Short Film - The Mill at Calder’s End Best Wisconsin Short - The Life and Times of Thomas Thumb Jr. We would like to thank everyone that came out and participated. It is an exciting thing to join or become a part of an event, especially festivals. A festival is a gathering of the people in an area or community which involves games, food and a lot more enjoyable things. This is a fun event that everybody would love. It is also a way to know and meet the people in the community. The people, especially children, love to join in different games and win prizes or to have an award.
